What Is TRC-20?

TRC-20 is TRON's smart contract token standard, fully compatible with Ethereum's ERC-20. It allows any developer to issue tokens on the TRON blockchain. The most widely used TRC-20 token is USDT (Tether), which has seen massive adoption on TRON due to near-zero transfer fees and 3-second finality.

Your TRX Address IS Your TRC-20 Address

A single TRON mainnet address holds both TRX and all TRC-20 tokens. You do not need a separate address for USDT or any other TRC-20 token — the same T... address accepts them all.

Sending TRC-20 USDT

  1. Open TronLink or any compatible wallet.
  2. Select the USDT (TRC-20) token from your balance.
  3. Enter the recipient's TRON mainnet address (must start with T).
  4. Confirm the transaction — it requires Energy resources.

If you lack Energy, the wallet will burn TRX automatically to cover the cost. Staking TRX gives you Energy to avoid burning.

Always verify you are sending USDT on the TRC-20 network. Sending TRC-20 tokens to an ERC-20 address (Ethereum network) will result in permanent loss of funds.
